PHP Certification

ProCert PHP Certification is a high level certification that tests working knowledge of the PHP scripting lanaguage.

What is PHP?

PHP is a popular open-source, programming language used mainly for developing server-side applications Originally, PHP stood for "Personal Home Page". Today, the official meaning is the acronym "PHP Hypertext Preprocessor".

Famous examples of PHP applications include vBulletin, WarpCM as well as MediaWiki, the software behind Wikipedia. The PHP model can be seen as an alternative to Microsoft ASP.NET/C#/VB.NET system, Macromedia ColdFusion system, Sun Microsystems JSP/Java system, the Zope/Python system, and to the Mod perl/Perl system.

It is widely used through out the world because of its powerful function and wide availability on both Windows and Linux servers.

What does the ProCert PHP Certification cover?

The certification examines working knowledge of PHP and its main functions. Candidates are expected to have a working knowledge of the basic functions such as setting date variables, calculations and output options. The following areas are examined:

  • Use of normal functions
  • Regular expression matching
  • RPC and XML processing
  • Basic OOP (Object Orientated Programming) functions within PHP
